Hello,
Thank you for visiting my e-portfolio. Here you will find information regarding my experience as a musician and educator. I will graduate from Keene State College on May 11'th, 2013, with a B.M. in Music Education, and a B.A. in Music specializing in Composition, Theory, and History. While at KSC, I participated and performed with many ensembles including Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Chamber Orchestras, Percussion Quartets, various choirs, as well as my Senior Recital, which I completed on 3/30/13. I have also had the oppurtunity to lecture on and perform my composition Choices, for solo marimba this past April at the KSC Academic Excellence Conference. I tutored music theory and aural skills as a Junior, and became the teaching assistant for Music Theory III the fall semester of my senior year. Through various practicum placements, I was able to work with students of all ages, spanning the whole K-12 spectrum. I completed my student teaching at Hudson Memorial School, focusing primarily on middle school concert band, but was also able to work with the choral ensembles and general music classes on occasion. At my second placement, Londonderry High School, I was able to direct beginning and advanced jazz ensembles, concert and symphonic bands, and the 300 member Marching Lancers. I worked with the chamber choir, string orchestra, and was able to teach the music theory and composition class. Beginning May 2nd, 2013, I began teaching at McKelvie Intermediate School as a long-term substitute for 5th&6th grade general music, and 5th grade instrumental lessons.
